We went to Zochimilco (Land of Flowers) about an hour south-east of the center of Mexico City. Known for its extensive canals and colorful trajineras (flat bottom boats) it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Area preserving historical agricultural practices on floating islands. Being Sunday and Fathers Day, we expected lots of boats, lots of noise, lots of Mexicans partying!
