We read about Nagoro, a tiny village in the Iya Valley on Shikoku where almost all its 300 people had died or left so a local woman made realistic dolls of the former inhabitants and positioned them around the village, in fields, houses, shops and the school. We wanted to see that!
So we timed our trip to observe the autumn leaves.
