Route 21 remains within sight of the ocean, except for the 170 meter climb up Jimi-Bong. It’s only 10km so we continued further on to Seongsan, almost at the end of Route 1, another 12 or so kilometers. 8 hours today and so enjoyable didn’t check the time till midday.
The end of Route 21 does not coincide with the beginning of Route 1 so a bit tricky to join the two stages. By walking backwards along Route 1 to the start and then cutting back across the highway we managed it.
Today we were really lucky. The Jeju lady divers (Haenyeo) chatting away happily, were preparing to go out just as we walked past and we got to see them at work.
